Temple of Twilight Layout:
Swim down the tunnel. You arrive at about 23, 23 after going down a
hole. I call this the Crossroads. You can go W, SW or East.
Directly west of there, you have a triton treasure hunter against the
south wall. He explains the barracuda horde to the west. It's about 10+
red/purple barracudas with a deep purple one that glows supposedly
controlling them. That is 3.6.
If you go east, the tunnel slopes down then curls around south. You
run into a 3 way fork. NW (where you are coming from), NE and SW. SW
loops back to connect to the same tunnel that SW from the Crossroads
leads to. Down there, on the south side you will find the barracuda
room. They aggro from pretty far away and chew people up quickly. All
grape. That is 3.8.
The northeast path from the 3way fork we have yet to
explore. Also, I would recommend no less than 2 fg for
exploring all of ToT. Aggro and adds are pretty nasty in some places.
- Alcara Argenta
Trial 1 - Moirai
1)Moirai still holds the runic power behind her magical shielding!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This works for battlegroups. - Pedus
This has been done with 1 group.Strategy:
Keep everyone inside the middle of the ring she
stands on otherwise you get nasty AE nuked (the inner part of the ring
is safe). Beat down her minions but DON'T kill them. When wounded they
will heal themselves using up some of the protective sphere that Moirai
uses to avoid damage (everyone only hits for 1 dmg with shield up).
Eventually they will use up all the healing in the sphere and you can
kill them all pretty easily. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips: 2 warriors
1 skald
1 savage
1 zerker
2 healers
1 shammy bot
wasnt too hard just took about 30mins to whack moirai down with that. Nov 21
- Natraz_Veturi
Put 2-3 tanks onher minions (each one if you can) let the minions
return to the shield to heal. Do this from outside her room. In about
2-3 minutes they will drain the barrier. Once it's down, get everyone
inside the room in the small inner circle of her little platform. Simple
beatdown after her shield drops. She spawns some snakes, but pbae can
deal with them easily. 11/13
- Pedus
Sometimes the minions take a few minutes to start healing,
specially if you knock them down all the way to almost nothing. You have
to make sure you don't kill them, thats what takes forever to get the
shield to drop.
If you kill all three minions, then you have to back out and let her
respawn everything.
We've killed her three times now, shes a pretty straight forward
encounter, once you get the hang of it. 11/9
- Thrennoadae
Well, we defeated the 3.1 encounter, Moirai. She has a runic
shield around her, you can't damage her until it's down, she summons
snakes(Cons from yellow to purple) and she has 3 minions(Purple).
At first we killed the minions to see if they dropped her barrier, they
didn't. So we waited a few minutes and she re-summoned the minions. What
we did was we kept almost killing the minions, when they get damaged
they absorb Moirai's Barrier to heal themselves. When her barrier
starts to weaken it flashes colors more, then it decreases in size.
Moirai hits for about 350 to 500. The Minions are weak and the snakes
are normal con strength, no special poisons like for 2.10, but we had to
kill about 300 snakes in the half hour the fight took. It took us about
20 mins to drop the barrier and 10 mins to kill Moirai, it's a very
non-zerg fight in the way that you have to drop the barrier. Once
Moirai is free you'll want a bit more help for her and the snakes at
once.
This was a very tough fight for one group, we used 2 BOFs, 3 IPs, a FH,
all the instants on our 40+ rejuv clerics, many many power potions and
Raging Power on the Theurgist to pet spam. At the end of the fight we
were completely out of power and 3 of us died in the last 15 seconds.
The snake agro got unbearable for our poor PBAEr by the end. The group
was Paladin, Reaver, Theurgist, Wizard, Cleric, Cleric, Minstrel, Friar.
If you stand on the inner part of the discus/platform where Moirai
stands her fire AE will not hit you. Moirai uses a fire AE on the
entire platform except the inner part, you'll see what I mean when you
get there.
DO NOT KILL THE MINIONS until the barrier is down. So, in closing, 2
groups would make this go very smoothly. I believe that covers just
about everything, I would give directions if I had them.

Trial 2 - Kepa
2)Kepa has agreed to give you her runic power, will you help?
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
You need two groups for this.
Mourghart was found on the side of a rock and he looked alot like
seaweed. /loc was 2.6 21.4 Meso. Nov 11
- Thrennoadae
We found Moughart at 4k 16k meso tonight. He respawned there with
his buddies twice after that also. Nov 9
- Seter
Another Moughart spawn location we found tonight: 37k, 49k Nov 24
- spydor
Strategy:
Kepa: Easy fight again, no special tactics
necessary.
<Kepa's Subquest> Kill Moughart. Spawns at ~5k 20k in Meso with 4
purple bodyguards. If you kill any of them they all die and you get
quest credit. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Quest (again). She sends you to 3k/21k in Meso. Find and kill
Moughart. This guy comes with 3 or 4 purp guards. If you have 2groups
or more it's not even a contest. He does cast a disease, and tells his
guards to attack one person.... but he dies fast.
Return to Kepa, she (big suprise) decides to attack you. Just get
everyone close to her before anyone speaks to her (i.e. r-click). Then
you kill her. Fairly easy fight for three groups.
11/13
- Pedus
Pretty straight forward on
smacking him down with the purple shaman adds. Those are useful for any
that need triton shamen for 3.5 it seems (I wasn't on this step yet so I
couldn't complete it but several others got the necklace
needed)
***Big Note***
Please make sure to allow folks behind a few steps to speak to Kepa
& Antioos before someone returning with a completed Quest does.
Pretty sure both start fight encounters and it might prevent them from
starting their quest if not allowed the chance to speak to them
first. 11/11
- Thrennoadae
Drops:
Decent drops btw - bunch of 100% items. Some were crap. One thing was
an extremely nice hunter spear. I forget the exact stats, but it was
like +3 spear, 15 quickness, 12% meelee damage, 12% haste, 5.7 speed.

Trial 3 - Casta
3)Casta still uses her artifacts to slay anyone who enters her lair!
Location: Casta is around 46k 10k in ToT
11/8 - Balise
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This will take almost 3 groups. This works for battlegroups
Strategy:
Basic fight, she is immune to ranged attacks for
the first minute or so until you get spam that her protective necklace
breaks. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Straightforward beatdown. Just kill her. You'll get messages during
the fight about her jewelry breaking. 11/13
- Pedus
Her range attack is a killer. We've done her pretty easily a
few times by keeping everyone within melee range using 1.5-3fg. You
still have to live through the occassional AE stun, but if the aggro
group has PBT it shouldn't be too bad. 11/12
- Shandu
I guess Casta seems to be bugged for us. Talked to some friends
they said it was a pretty straight forward fight.
We had 2 solid groups and like 3 bots. Fought her for about 20-30
minutes finally got her down to about 85%, she didnt seem to want to go
below 85%, so we just logged the healers and disengaged.
Anyone else have this problem, or know why she was so hard for us, and
so easy for others. 11/12
- Kozoloz
Trial 4 - Laodamedia
4)Laodamedia still rigorously guards her lair!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This encounter took 2 full groups 3 or 4 tries to complete. This
works for battlegroups.
i cant really tell you how we got to her, i just know its one of the
tunnels past the man eating rays that leads to some temple with uber
hard statues in front.
Strategy:
Just
beat her down, again no special tactics needed. If you hit her with the
same damage type too many times in a row she will go a little crazy and
double hit whoever she's aggro on at the time. Does nice damage but not
unmanagable. After she's dead 3 Grogans spawn at the exit. Focus on the
"D" one first, then kill all of the summoned snakes, then kill the other
two. May get hectic but focus on D first and the rest is
cake. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Ok, to make this easy on everyone involved.... There are some
uber-bad-mofo statues (10-12) in the hallway going to her. Don't waste
your time fighting them.
Take one full group. Run in to the doors, them, and die just past
the doors.... dragging the entire hall of statues with you. EVERYONE
ELSE, wait like 3 or 4 seconds and follow the suicide group in. Make
sure nobody touches or heals or rez any of the suicide group until the
statues retreat. Then rez up and get prepped for the mob.
Laodamedia herself is a good fight. Will take several minutes to kill
her with three groups. Once she dies, three more named grogs will pop
at the door you came in a min ago.
Get two shield tanks to ENGAGE the ones who's name start with 'P' and
'I'. Kill the one with the 'D' name first. Do it fast, because she
spawns a bunch of hard hitting snakes. Then move to P, and finally I.
Once you kill all three, you complete the step.
To get out past the statues.... repeat the suicide run, just in the
opposite direction. 11/13
- Pedus
~ 3 fg of us wiped to Lao on 3.4
Tip: Run away when she goes into a rage -- she starts one shotting
people. Ow. Nov 14
- Alcara Argenta
By far the hardest
fight we did in there. When she 'enrages' as too many hits by a specific
weapon type, she is brutal. Best strategy seems to flat out avoid her at
all cost when enraged. Sprint out of her way, don't even attack from
behind as she has a large attack radius. We still lost many on this
fight, lots of mid fight rezzing but we managed to take her down by
avoiding her while enraged.
Once dead, three other gorgons spawn at the doorway, exact names escape
me but they start with D, P and I. D casts cobras, P is a caster. We
took down D first to get rid of the cobra spawn, then P as she's a
caster. Last was I and we finally managed to finish this encounter last
night. Was our 3rd - 4th attempt for most and we had 2 very solid well
built groups, with alot of tank power. 11/11
- Thrennoadae
Drops:
16.5dps 99%qual hammer. I believe one of the 3 final guardians at the end of it.
Unique Object
Magical Bonuses:
-Strength: 30
-Cold: 9%
-Heat: 10%
-Energy: 6%
-Crush: 4%
59 dd ae proc (heat dmg).
It is over 70 util.

Trial 5 - Antioos
5)Antioos asks for your help in exchange for another runic power!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
You will need 3 full groups.
Strategy:
Focus on her snake first then Antioos, no special tactics
necessary. (screenshot from Speedos. Notice in the screen
shot, Antioos is charmed, this Minstrel made Antioos his pet!
However, the messages say that he resisted the charm.)
<Tasks for Antioos Subquest> You have to find a snake egg,
sword, and a shaman necklace.
Egg can be found from a pregnant cobra outside of Moirai's chamber I
believe. ~10k 20k
Sword from any of the grogans inside the dungeon. ~35k 45k
Shaman necklace comes from triton shamen outside the dungeon at each of
the 3 factions in Meso. ~35k 5k Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Had 3 full groups as compared to our last attempt with 2 full groups.
We kept our two Antioos tanks on her the whole time while the healer
kited her.
There are two explanations that I have for the previous snake
poof/encounter reset:
1. Antioos resets the encounter after she has not been attacked for a
certain amount of time, even if the snake has.
2. There is a timer on the encounter itself.
Either way, 3 full groups did it pretty easily.
Nov 15
- Drakhon Vintersaga
Antioos sends you on a quest. You need to go kill, with one group at a
time, any gorgon (for the sword) preg cobra (for the egg) near (I think
Casta'a room, but it could be Moiria's.. lol can't remember), and a
triton shaman (out near the Skyros order area in Meso). make sure all
people have all three items, then everyone get up on her platform, one
person talk to her.... she takes the stuff from you then attacks. She
spawns a big snake to help her, kill it first... when it's dead you can
beat her down easy. Nov 13
- Pedus
When you talk to Antioos and trigger the encounter, she'll spawn a
giant cobra. She will then 'blah blah I'm gonna kick yer ass blah blah
you have one minute to run'. Either time passes fast or it's a short
minute, so be ready.
Attack and kill the cobra first. Ignore Antioos until the cobra is
dead. Then pile on Antioos. She really isn't that hard aside from the
very hard hits (me, lvl 50 hero gets double hit for 700 - 900 each, 1400
-1900 dmg per round). The giant cobra can hit in the neighborhood of 600
per round.
Note: In order to get credit for this step, everyone that wants credit
for MUST have all three items (egg/ssword/necklace) in their
inventory!!! The read file from yesterday enabled those that had been
stepped up in the item search but didn't recieve the item, to go back
and get the item.
My suggestion is to first hit the triton shammies and make sure
everyone has the necklace before heading into ToT. You're not going to
want to leave there mid raid to go get them. They spawn in the Skylos
territory on the rock above Moughart (4,16
Meso). 11/11

Trial 6 - Strange Barracuda
6)A strange barracuda resides in the darkness, glowing with power!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This works for battlegroups. - Pedus
This was done with 1 group.
Strategy:
Just kill the glowing cuda for step credit.
You'll get zerged by ~10-15 orange-red adds, dogpile and pbae works
fine. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Like the rays, one big purple one will be glowy...Have one person drop
group and drop /bg, drop all buffs ect... (maybe relog to make sure all
association with your /bg is cleared) Have one person in the /bg target
the glowing barracuda. Have your disbaneded person do a suicide
pull and pull the reds aand clear them, pull the glowy one. Easy
(very) for three groups. Just make sure you designate an MA, and
everyone /assist. 11/13
- Pedus
Pretty straight forward, kill the big glowing one. Lots of small ones
with alot of aggro. Pbaoe works great with assisting tanks on the main
etc. 11/11
- Thrennoadae
Barracuda is not too far from the start of the dungeon. We
tried with 8 people and got it down to 60% before being wiped.
Techincally, I think it is possible with a great group. Should be a
breeze with 2 solid groups. Bring PBAoE for the adds. 11/7
- Milric Anadar
Trial 7 - Shraogh
7)Shraogh still strikes fear into the heart of those who oppose him!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
With the Eel stomach, you can do this with 1 group.
Without the eel stomachs, 4 full groups can just zerg the
whaleshark. This works for battlegroups.
Talk to the treasure hunter outside ToT. He will tell you need parts
from a Darid Gho eel (which lives inside the temple) to kill the evil
giant whale shark
Shraogh can be found at 17 56 Notos, or thereabouts.
Strategy:
With Eel Stomach:
Shark is extremely easy with the Eel stomach, took us about 20
seconds to kill the shark after using the stomach with 2.5 groups. This
can be done with one group provided you have the stomach.
Nov 14
- Gilean
Without Eel Stomach:
How to kill him? Three groups minimum can do it. It's a hard and long
fight. If you get four groups, you will be much better off. ANy force
of 5+ groups will be able to deal with him easily. Just make sure you
have some DA handy, as without the stomachs you hit for 1 or 2 (worse
than beating on the dragons) maybe 20 with styles and DA. Just tuck in
for a long fight if your doing it with three groups. Try to fight him
at the ToT entrance so a healer can bolt if things go
bad. 11/13
- Pedus
Tips:
Find an eel stomach from inside ToT or bring 4fg
for this one. He spawns *right* out front of ToT and likes to eat
healers. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
We also got eel
stomachs off of darid gremna eel. They take out huge chunks of the
whaleshark's health when used. Also: Sinovia spawns every 15
minutes or so... or less. Nov 14
- Alcara Argenta
Just found an Eel stomach at 37k 28k Nov 14

Trial 8 - Sting Ray
8)The sting ray swarm with an unnatural glowing power!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This has been done with 1 group.
This works for battlegroups. - Pedus
Strategy:
Pretty much same as barracuda except it's 10-15
purple adds that hit pretty hard. We had someone kite away all the adds
and then piled everyone on the glowing one for step
credit. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Look at the rays. ONE will be glowing. Have one person drop group
and drop /bg, drop all buffs ect... (maybe relog to make sure all
association with your /bg is cleared) Have one person in the /bg target
the glowing ray. Have your disbaneded person do a suicide pull and drag
the rays as far out into the ent tunnel as possible. Have your
designated puller shoot the glowy one... it will then come alone to your
/bg. Easy kill. Repeat once more so your suicide person gets
credit. 11/13
- Pedus
About the same as Barracudas, cept the rays transfer the 'runic'
power between them. Just keep killing the glowing one till you 'catch'
the power and you are done. Nice assisting tank train
works. 11/11
- Thrennoadae
Trial 9 - Sinovia
9)Sinovia the octopus devours those who come near!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This works for battlegroups. - Pedus
This has been done with 8 people.
Sinovia is located at around 50k 26k in ToT.
11/8
- Balise
Strategy:
Easily farmable, just a straightforward
fight. Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Straight up fight killing an
octopus. She summons occasionally an orange/red one to send after a
healer that gains alot of aggro, and also does a life drain attack.
Healers just need to pay attention and its easily
countered. 11/11
- Thrennoadae
Sinovia is an octopus in a little dead-end side tunnel. The
encounter is a straight forward smack down. The octopus summons
orange-red octopus to help now and then. Did it with 11 people.

Trial 10 - Medusa
10)Medusa still turns anyone who opposes her into stone!
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This has been done with 4 - 5 groups. This works for
battlegroups.
Strategy:
Keep her in
one of the alcoves on the sides to avoid the fire traps in the middle of
the room and keep people off the stairs. Again a straightforward fight,
just dogpile on her. Her AE may be bugged as I've never seen it do
anything to anyone *shrug* Nov 18
- Jozi Rawr
Tips:
Medusa's chamber door should no longer be locked unless she is
currently in combat with other players.
The statue sentinels and moldy statues should no longer become
unattackable. (from 11/14 patch)
Not nearly as bad as I was thinking it would be. Once you get past the
hallway of insanely overpowered statues (I reccomend using the
Laodamedia tactic here again) you come to a room where you can prep for
the fight. Get ready.... and move everyone down and to the right sode
behind the collums at the same time. You will hit none of the various
traps here. Get her attention and fight her there. She died pretty
easily to a 4-5 group force.
She drops keys, and some other stuff. As with all keys, lotto the
keys. 11/13
- Pedus
First of all, it is unbugged, so that you get credit for it.
Secondly, she is bugged and is insta respawning.
Her behavior is varying wildly from fight to fight.
1st fight - didn't do much: at 10% health, she stunned us all for a
long time, and walked back to the middle to regen.
2nd fight - was running all over the damn place until a shield stun
calmed her down.
3rd fight - is killing people with nukes, which she didn't do any of
the other fights. Nov 15
- Ulstan
Someone knows their legends:
Kerveis is the Scythe (or sickle as legend has it) that was used
to cut off the head of Medusa, it was given to him by Hermes and
belonged to Cronos.
The Kibisis (which is a bag that drops off of certain mobs) was the
bag/wallet in which the head was carried by Perseus and was given to him
by one of the Hesperides sisters (Nymphs of the North). He also received
a dog skin cap that gave him invisibility.
Also...Athena gave Perseus The Shield of Herakles ...and if you look
in the latest patch notes, you'll notice this...
"- Moirai the Shielded: Moirai's Minions should no longer get stuck
within her shield when they are wounded."
That is listed under the Temple of Twilight Dungeon encounters which is
where Medusa supposedly is...
One of the pieces missing from the Myth are the winged sandals from
Hermes...so I'm wondering if that's something that hasn't been
discovered as of yet...
Good luck...
This is an encounter that I've really been looking forward too...
Edit:
Keep in mind that Medusa was protected by 3 Gorgons that chased him
across the earth after he killed
Medusa... 11/11
- Brat_Palo
Drops:
She will drop some an MP item or two, 4 keys (chests in her room
for class specific stuff... so lotto thye keys) and a legendary weapon
ingredient.

Trial 11 - Killing for XP
11)Continue your search in Darkness Falls, or try looking in legendary
dungeons in the shrouded isles.
Time to farm epic dungeons.
See the Killing for XP
section of Master Level 2. That way everything is on one list,
things that seem to be specific to ML 3 I will put here.
Dartmoor still works too, at 20% MLexps just helping others still in
ML2. Our observation is that you need more exps for this STEP than you
did for 2.11; as we just compared growth of the bar for people in the
ML2 and ML3 trials and the ML3 people did not fill as much of the bar
for the exact same kills. Example: Doing a complete Dartmoor loop
resulted in 30% of the bar being full for ML2 people but only 17-19% for
ML3 people. 11/7
